Hello and Happy Spring!
Despite today’s brief snowfall, it is spring and the weather continues to improve. The daffodils are up and the trilliums are starting to poke their heads out. The potholes are exciting … so we know it is spring!
A few updates:
1. Road Fee Invoices went out this week. We really appreciate you looking after it right away. Fastest response award goes to John and Kay McKee who sent an etransfer within about 10 minutes of receiving their invoice. Woot! If you didn’t receive your invoice or have any questions, please respond here and let me know.
2. The Road is always a bit rough this time of year as the ground defrosts, and the rain pours down. Please be cautious, drive slowly, and celebrate Stephen Rigbey and the road team as they are in regular communication with the crew to ensure we get it graded as soon as we can once the ground thaws out entirely.
3. Save the Date! The Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Sunday July 14th, so mark it on your calendar (9:30-11:30ish) with the CHRA meeting following. More to come on the agenda, etc. in June.
4. You can access benefits from the Federation of Cottagers Association. See https://foca.on.ca/member-services/benefits/ for details. Here’s one that can save you money and frustration.
CottageFirst Insurance Benefit
All your member families can participate in CottageFirst, the complete solution bundling together your cottage, boat, home, car and other personal insurance products. This group program is exclusively available to FOCA members, administered by Cade Associates and underwritten by Travelers Canada. Members have reported significant savings and improved coverages. Ensure your member families know they are eligible to participate in this valuable program!
Contact Cade Associates Insurance Brokers for quotes on this insurance benefit: 1-844-223-3178 clientservices@cadeinsurance.com
5. We’ve had some crazy wind this spring! Please take the time to check your trees to ensure they are standing strong and are safe. Trees along the road can wipe out our hydro quickly, so please take extra care to cut down any trees that are dying along the road front.
6. Enjoy the beautiful Willow tree Briar Boake and her sisters had planted by the Tennis Courts to honour their parents. If you wish to make a contribution to this property with a tree, a bench, or a flag pole, it would be received with pleasure.
Have a fantastic spring! See you on the road and (soon) on the water.
Best –
Karen Collacutt
Secretary/Treasurer
